TheatriKids presents the sparkliest, fanciest entertainment ever
Grab your fanciest, finest frippery or come as you are as TheatriKids introduces you to Nancy, who believes that more is always better when it comes to being fancy. From the top of her tiara down to her sparkly shoes, Nancy is determined to live in a perfectly fancy world. “Fancy Nancy, the Musical” runs for one weekend, May 4-6, at the Doris Harper-White Community Playhouse in historic downtown Flagstaff.
When Nancy auditions for the school play, her fancy world crumbles when she learns she’s cast not as a mermaid but as a tree! With the help of her friends, Nancy rallies and the play is a huge success, with the fanciest dance ever.
This production is directed by Canyon Moon Theatre’s founder Mary Guaraldi with book and lyrics by Susan DilLallo, music and lyrics by Danny Abosch, and based on the popular “Fancy Nancy” books written by Jane O’Connor. “Fancy Nancy, the Musical” will appeal to youth in elementary school as well as their adults.
At each “Fancy Nancy” performance we’ll be selling raffle tickets for a gift basket filled with fun prizes for furry critters and the humans who love them. All proceeds benefit Paw Placement!
Paw Placement will be on hand to share information! Looking for a kitty in a boa? A pup with a top hat? We’ll have a “headshot board” of these adoptable, and very fancy, pets that are sure to melt your heart and tempt you to adopt!
“I enjoy working with kids and love watching the young audience’s reaction when they see their peers onstage,” said Guaraldi. “Although it’s based on a popular series of books, Fancy Nancy will appeal to fans and non-fans alike with music, dance, and a hip hop number featuring some pretty unusual sharks.”
Performances will be held at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6. Tickets are $12 plus applicable fees.
Tickets can be purchased online; by calling (928) 774-1662; or by visiting the theater’s box office, which is open from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and two hours prior to each performance.
